New Challenge Card

Now I must say that I love Mary over at Cardz TV.  Lots of great videos and ideas.  This week, she did a card for the challenge at PaperPlaytime .  I love it when there is a theme and the card design is freestyle so I thought I would do an entry.

After my daughter's wedding I had GOBS of teal scraps left so I try to use them when I can.  S,o in this card, I pulled out a teal scrap and added a designer paper.  Then I added white rick rack (  rarely think of using this but it worked!).  Love the addition of the yellow flowers for a bit of punch.  I inked the scallops with teal and popped them up on foam tape.......had to add a bow .....just 'cuz!  Anyway, hope you like it!
Having a bit of trouble with my camera...not the greatest picture

Have a flowery day!

Monday Musings

Well, I have not posted in a while...life gets in the way..........
Amyway, hit my craft room with gusto the last couple of days as I had several projects I needed to do.
cards for a bridal shower, a birthday and a thank you card.  Then....today I received the Mojo MOnday challenge sketch and knew I had to make a card from the sketch.  The sketch is below....

So off I went to my stash to find the perfect paper....
and I did!!!!!
I found a great group of papers by Authentique called Loyal.
Kind of "guy" paper" but is versatile so I went with it.

So here is my take on the sketch!
Hope you like it!  I was pleased with how it turned out.
Have a great day!

CardzTV entry

I am a devoted follower of Mary at CardzTV.  She is SO creative and I get a lot of ideas from her videos.  I am one of those visual people so love videos for craft projects!
Anyway.....I am entering my Valentine's Day card that I posted the other day in her challenge ...I will repost the picture.
It was made with Ornamental Iron 2 Cricut cartridge.  The details are in my previous post.

Have a Great Day!

Valentine Card

Well, it is getting near Valentine's Day so I
thought I should get going on cards.  I had recently seen the
technique of inking an embossing folder to get a two color emboss.  It is much like pottery and is very elegant.  So, I played with this a bit and came up with a card base done in pink and white.  Then I took a Quick cutz heart die and cut 2 hearts in 2 sizes with red and pink paper.  I ran the pink heart through the swiss dots folder and popped both hearts on foam tape.  I think it turned out elegant and simple.  The shading on the embossed card can be tailored to the look you want.  Great technique and one I will use a lot.

Close up of the embossing effect.

910 pm:  Well more cards made!  This next one uses the same color embossing as the one above but a reversed image..the colored part is the unraised part and the white is the raised embossing.  I then cut out a frame from Ornamental Iron 2...page 54...lace 2 in pink at 2 3/4 inches and then the  lace 2 shadow (on the left) at 2 3/4 in in white.  I popped the frame and shadow on 2 thicknesses of foam tape.  I then stamped the greeting  in SU chocolate chip.  The stamp is a Michael's dollar bin stamp.
I think it is a great girly card with the pink........Having fun today crafting....hope you are too!

New Year Craft Room Clean Up

Well, started cleaning up and organizing my craft areas.  I quilt as well as papercraft so have many bits and pieces around.  Found a bag with left over scraps from wedding crafts......Teal everything!!!   Will be giving away lots of teal projects this year! Fortunately I am not finding too many duplicates so I feel pretty good about that! I am notorious for buying the same things several times!!!UGH....
No recent crafting moments but will share a adorable little gift box I made for a Christmas gift.  The box file is from SVG Cuts.Com....I used a glitter paper with packages on it and added a bit of bling with a glitter box embellishment!

Loved the way it turned out!!

Have a great evening!

Close of the Weekend

Well, it is Sunday night and it is back to work tomorrow. My son starts back at college this week and I am wishing him all the best!  Not much time to craft this weekend..paying bills, grocery shopping, errands....and of course....football!  I am a fan but there was definately too much testosterone in my house this weekend, couch coaching was at its all time best!
Anywayyyyyyy....   my daughter recently got married and I made these letters from svg files at SVG Cuts.com  (awesome site).  I thought they turned out great...their living room is decorated in black, greay and burgundy so I used a variety of papers and embellishments to make the set.
Hope you have a great week!
Best,
Amy

Sharing a Card or Two

So to begin my return to blogging, I thought I would share a couple of cards that I have made recently.
I have to tell you that I am a CardzTV fanatic and just love the videos Mary does.  I am also madly in love ( not romatically of course) with SVG Cuts.  Mary and Leo are so creative and continually supply their followers with great new designs.  I am putting a Sizzix Eclipse on my birthday list as I think it would make my designing and SVG cutting better.

I needed a "male" birthday card so used a brown/blue/green plaid background paper, cut happy birthday and popped it up and added some skinny blue ribbon and a green bow.  Simple, Male ...worked well.
Don't you sometimes find that guy cards are tough......I try to always keep some made as I seem to have a lot of men in my life...like that part!!!!

Have a great weekend!
